High Performance IPv4/IPv6 Service Capability
The S5130S-EI-G series uses a hardware IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack platform, supporting multiple tunnels, rich Layer 3 routing, multicast and policy routing, to provide a complete IPv4/IPv6 solution.
Software Defined Network (SDN)
SDN is an innovative architecture separating network control and forwarding layers via Openflow, simplifying management, cutting maintenance costs, enabling flexible traffic control, and providing a standardized platform for network application and innovation. The S5130S-EI-G series supports a large flow table; paired with the H3C SDN controller, it enables a two-layer network architecture and rapid function expansion on existing networks, greatly reducing network operation and maintenance costs.
IRF2 (Intelligent Resilient Framework 2)
The S5130S-EI-G series supports IRF2 technology, virtualizing up to 9 physical devices into one logical device for unified management and operation, with core benefits:
- Simplified management: Log in to the unified system via any port on any member device, configure the entire stack through a single device, no separate configuration for each unit.
- High scalability: Plug-and-play aggregation by adding new switches to the stack; new devices are managed via a single IP and upgraded synchronously, cutting expansion costs.
- High reliability: Patented 1:N backup technology lets all slave devices back up the master, creating control and data link redundancy with uninterrupted Layer 3 forwarding; traffic stays uninterrupted if the master fails, avoiding unplanned downtime.
- Load balancing & availability: Supports cross-device link aggregation for extra redundancy and higher resource utilization; implemented via standard GE/10GE ports, IRF2 optimizes bandwidth allocation for business access and traffic splitting.
Comprehensive Security Control
The S5130S-EI-G series has innovative single-port multi-authentication, flexibly supporting MAC address, 802.1X and Web Portal authentication for diverse clients, with unified single-port deployment. It supports SSH V2 for secure transmission and strong authentication, protecting the switch from IP spoofing and plaintext password interception. To counter major LAN security threats like ARP attacks and viruses, the series has full ARP protection including ARP Detection for validity checks and ARP rate limiting to prevent CPU-targeted flood attacks. It also supports EAD (End User Admission Domination); paired with the iMC system, EAD integrates terminal security policies with network access control to build a collaborative security system, shifting from passive single-point protection to active comprehensive protection to boost the network's threat defense capability.
High Availability
The S5130S-EI-G series has multi-level device and link redundancy. It supports overcurrent/overvoltage surge control, overheat protection, power and fan fault detection/alerting, and automatic fan speed adjustment. Beyond device-level redundancy, the series offers rich link redundancy including LACP/STP/RSTP/MSTP/Smart Link protocols, plus IRF2 1:N backup and cross-device link aggregation, greatly improving network reliability.
Abundant QoS
The S5130S-EI-G series supports Layer 2-4 packet filtering and traffic classification by source/destination MAC/IP addresses, TCP/UDP ports, protocol types and VLANs. It supports flexible port- and queue-based scheduling algorithms including SP, WRR and SP+WRR. The series enables CAR with 10 kbps minimum granularity, and supports bidirectional port mirroring for network detection and troubleshooting.
Professional Surge Protection Function
The S5130S-EI-G series uses professional built-in surge protection technology, with industry-leading 10KV service port surge protection, greatly reducing equipment damage from surge strikes even in harsh environments.
Excellent Manageability
The S5130S-EI-G series simplifies management via SNMPv1/v2/v3 support, and can be managed by mainstream platforms like Open View and iMC. It also supports CLI and Telnet for easy operation, plus SSH 2.0 encryption to boost management security.
Green Design
The S5130S-EI-G series has multiple green energy-saving features: auto-power-down (cuts power to idle interfaces) and EEE energy-saving mode (sets idle ports to low-power mode). The series also complies with the EU RoHS environmental protection and safety standard.
